Super helpful- outlines LSAT strategies which are both intuitive and workable

i went ahead and marked this as finished because i’m not planning to work through any more of it before my tests - but keep in mind i didn’t go through the last 150 pages or so。 the positive: this book is a great place to start! it helped me see what my strengths and weaknesses were and gave me a great basic understanding of the test。 it was clear and easy to understand and the exercises (especially for the logical reasoning section) were very helpful。 the logical reasoning sections in this book i went ahead and marked this as finished because i’m not planning to work through any more of it before my tests - but keep in mind i didn’t go through the last 150 pages or so。 the positive: this book is a great place to start! it helped me see what my strengths and weaknesses were and gave me a great basic understanding of the test。 it was clear and easy to understand and the exercises (especially for the logical reasoning section) were very helpful。 the logical reasoning sections in this book particularly shine, it’s very intuitive and the progression is perfectly gradual。 i’m crediting this book with about 8 points of my increase, which is great! the negative: i wouldn’t recommend the LSAT trainer for intense studying and dedicated, hardworking improvement on LG or RC。 like i said before, it was a great starting place and helped me understand how and where to improve, but it’s not great for focused higher level studying。 the logic games chapters of this book helped me to understand the theory better but i didn’t see any improvements in my LG score in practice。 i ended up subscribing to 7sage to supplement the LR in here。 i didn’t do all of the reading comp work in here because i already score reliably well on it and a lot of it felt more introductory than what i needed。 。。。more

This is something of passing interest to me; I had a hard time understanding, what the prerequisite skills were, for understanding a textbook on tort or contract law。 This was a great help, to get a sense of what skills are needed, in terms of understanding legal argumentation。 I have further, proceeded, a long time ago to reading the textbooks themselves, and case law。

It wasn’t as great as I thought it would be。 I did have a better understanding of how the test would be like, but it was the same info I could find online。 The Logic Games section should’ve focused more on strategies than just diagramming。 The examples given were also from the harder PTs (which are unlikely to show up on the real exam)。 It would’ve been more beneficial to incorporate more common questions in the book than jumping into the hard ones—it didn’t feel helpful at all。 The diagramming It wasn’t as great as I thought it would be。 I did have a better understanding of how the test would be like, but it was the same info I could find online。 The Logic Games section should’ve focused more on strategies than just diagramming。 The examples given were also from the harder PTs (which are unlikely to show up on the real exam)。 It would’ve been more beneficial to incorporate more common questions in the book than jumping into the hard ones—it didn’t feel helpful at all。 The diagramming did help, but I didn’t feel like I could diagram efficiently with the questions provided。 The Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension sections gave broad overviews of the testing questions, but the explanations for the answers were poor。 I started to read Loophole, and the first chapter alone helped me think differently much more than The LSAT Trainer did over multiple chapters。 I do think this book could help absolute beginners, but I think it was not the best use of my time。 。。。more

Of the LSAT books I tried, this one just clicked with my brain best。 Over a couple months of practice tests it improved my average about 10 points。

Great for everything except Logic Games, for me。 YouTube vids by Strategy Prep (1/2 of LSAT Demon and Power Score) were helpful for post-practice test review。

Clearly written and easy to understand。 I like the format of this book and how it highlights the important words you need to know for LR。 This is a good introductory overview to the LSAT。 However, I wouldn't bank on using this book exclusively。 This is best used in conjunction with a course or regular practice tests。 Note: I haven't officially taken the LSAT yet。 But, this has helped raise my last couple of PT scores by ~5 points。 Clearly written and easy to understand。 I like the format of this book and how it highlights the important words you need to know for LR。 This is a good introductory overview to the LSAT。 However, I wouldn't bank on using this book exclusively。 This is best used in conjunction with a course or regular practice tests。 Note: I haven't officially taken the LSAT yet。 But, this has helped raise my last couple of PT scores by ~5 points。 。。。more

I found this book really helpful in terms of understanding concepts - what are these questions really testing? what is this test really asking me to do? I think I have a much better grasp on each section。 I started out doing quite fine with reading, neutral on logic reasoning, and not confident at all about logic games。 huuuge improvement with logic games。 this is a great text for self study。

This is an excellent prep book for people who are self-motivated and busy。 As a full-time student, I did not have much time to study for the LSAT, but this book helped me improve my score in the limited time I had。 It does a great job of emphasizing what is most important, and has lots of helpful drills。

This LSAT Study Guide has been the best tool I have used to prepare for the LSAT。 On my first two LSATS that I have taken I scored much lower than I would have liked to。 After talking with many Friends about prep materials they suggested I use this book。 If my practice test scores has increased by 9 to 10 points I can only Imagine what that would mean for the Actual test。 This book has made me more optimistic about the LSAT than I ever thought possible。 If you are struggling just like I was Give This LSAT Study Guide has been the best tool I have used to prepare for the LSAT。 On my first two LSATS that I have taken I scored much lower than I would have liked to。 After talking with many Friends about prep materials they suggested I use this book。 If my practice test scores has increased by 9 to 10 points I can only Imagine what that would mean for the Actual test。 This book has made me more optimistic about the LSAT than I ever thought possible。 If you are struggling just like I was Give this Book and Study Plan a try。 。。。more

Lsat book pros: 1。 Has a lsat vocabulary section that is very helpful 2。 The logic reasoning sections of this book are superior to the logic reasoning power score bible in terms of the various drills, explanations, and approaches it provides for handling these problems。 The book showcases not only the categories of LR problems you’ll deal with on the LSAT but also the forms they come in。 These forms consist of。。。。 1。 Mistaking a puzzle piece to be enough to make the entire puzzle 2。 Compare appl Lsat book pros: 1。 Has a lsat vocabulary section that is very helpful 2。 The logic reasoning sections of this book are superior to the logic reasoning power score bible in terms of the various drills, explanations, and approaches it provides for handling these problems。 The book showcases not only the categories of LR problems you’ll deal with on the LSAT but also the forms they come in。 These forms consist of。。。。 1。 Mistaking a puzzle piece to be enough to make the entire puzzle 2。 Compare apples to oranges 3。 1+1=3。 The book also shows you how a great test taker would resolve the problem you solved step by step。 Cons: 1。 But when it comes to the LOGIC game section (which is for most the hardest part of the LSAT) I recommend reading the first section, and using some of the drills but that’s about it。 It’s like a tale of two cities。。 the Reasoning section is superb while the logic is underwhelming。 The later LG sections aren’t organized and they simply provide too many diagrams/ methods of resolve LSAT problems。 On the surface that seems good because it provides you with numerous ways of handling problems but it’s actually not good because you can only spare 8-9 minutes per each logic section。 So you can’t afford to waste a lot of time contemplating what diagram would be best to utilize for each game。 1A。 On the logic section primarily the author doesn’t provide nearly as much feedback on how to correctly solve each problem as he does for the LR and even RC (easiest part of the LSAT) sections。 Often times you get a sentence or two that briefly explains what went wrong/ why his answer was right。 2A。 A lot of the logic problems in this book are way harder then the ones in the LSAT practice test books。。。 and if the goal is to work smarter and not harder this is counterproductive。 What makes this worse is that as previously mentioned there are one or two sentences devoted towards explaining these super hard problems and if I’m being honest I feel like some of these problems had the wrong answers to them。 。。。more

This is a great "study-guide" for anyone interested in going to law and preparing to take the LSATs。 Kaplan is quite good, as well; however, if you're looking for a different study-guide, this is your best bet。 This is a great "study-guide" for anyone interested in going to law and preparing to take the LSATs。 Kaplan is quite good, as well; however, if you're looking for a different study-guide, this is your best bet。 。。。more

Pretty fantastic resource。 The cognitive psychology approach of going through the processes actual high scorers will use to systematically destroy the LSAT has been really helpful for understanding the test。
